Hello!

I'm Eris! The face behind Fade to Grey.

This space was born out of a lifelong love of cinema. I write reviews that dig into the craft of the film: the way a cut lands, how the score hits, and how the performances, stories, pacing, and silence speak.

I love horror and sci-fi, but I'm here for films that make you feel in your soul. No hype. Just honesty. I'll always aim to give you a deeper look, something thoughtful, sometimes punchy and hopefully a little unforgettable.

Our Core

Fade to Grey started as a one-person operation with a deep love for film—the kind of storytelling that lingers in your bones. What began as a place for thoughtful, emotionally-driven reviews has grown into something more: a space for deeper conversations about art, identity, genre, and the craft behind the screen.

We’re not here to churn out plot summaries. We’re here to take a closer look at the choices that shape a story, the emotional architecture of a scene, and the quiet details that stay with you long after the credits roll.

What We Aim For

       Our reviews are:

  • Technically curious – looking at direction, editing, sound, structure, and score

  • Emotionally honest – how the film hits, what it says (and doesn’t say), what lingers

  • Genre-conscious – especially in horror, sci-fi, and emotional thrillers

  • Accessible – clear, conversational, never condescending

Where We’re Headed

As Fade to Grey grows, we want to expand:

  • Into TV, books, and visual storytelling in all its forms

  • With guest contributors and interviews

  • Offering editorial deep-dives, theme-based series, and essays

  • And ultimately building a community that loves discussing the dark, the beautiful, and the in-between

We’re just getting started—but we know where we’re going.

A Note on Integrity & Accountability

Stories matter, and so do the people behind them. Fade to Grey celebrates the art of storytelling, but not at the expense of harm to marginalized communities. We will not feature, spotlight or promote the work of creators who use their platforms to target and diminish these communities, including but not limited to LGBTQ+, People of colour, disabled people and/or anyone who has been historically silenced or pushed aside. This stance includes both creators whose public actions and rhetoric stand in opposition to human rights, as well as those who actively choose to collaborate on them. There will be no “separating the art from the artists”, but there will be care, accountability and choosing to center creators that build a better, more inclusive world.
